BRCA EBUGGY & TRUGGY NATS Rd1

So the season finally kicked off with the first round of the eBuggy and Truggy Nationals at North West Nitro

Sat was practice day and the team were banging in the laps to get on the pace for Sundays meeting, had a great day in the sunshine catching up with people we have not seen for a while due to COVID

We all seemed to go well testing tyres (GRP Buggy and VP Pro Truggy) and latest setups and settled on a good base for the cars ready for the main event on Sun. Ben being the fastest car on the day with some staggering pace for his first time on a dirt track and only his 2nd race with an 8th scale #kudos

Sundays racing started in the sunshine which always helps with the mood around the camp and we were joined by some more of the team who just came for the day

Ebuggy

We had loads of guys running the EB48 2.0 and all on GRP Tyres. The popular choice was either the Plus Soft or the Cubic soft which gave us a 2 and a 3 in round with Mitch and Ben and lots of top 20 cars were on these as well including Ewan and Dan who had some stellar runs.

At the end of quali we had 2 cars in the STACKED A final with Mitch and Ben lining up 4th and 5th respectively, Dan and Ewan 17/18th, Dave 35th, Bondy 40th after some "misting up" issues and Robert 43rd - Standard is silly high this year and everyone did great to get where they did on the day

Final kind of went to the book really, lots of great battles, lots of fun had and some great results across the board - The A Main was super close and both Ben and Mitch drove awesome to come back from some racing incidents to finnish an amazing 5th and 6th.

Truggy

Was great to see 30 odd Truggy drivers this year taking part, recent years had seen numbers drop so there was a real push to re-ignite the class as it is just such fun to race

Matt, Andy, Wes (Bornhurst) were taking up the challenge with Wes and Andy running the NT48.3 and Matt the new ET48 2.0

Matt and Andy qualified in the B Main and Joe put his beast direct into the A - tyres were key with a dusty, polished track and both Wes and Matt ended up on the VP Pro Gripz

The B main was a fun affair with Matt taking the win over 18 mins with the Optipower powered ET and Andy just missing the bump to the A 😎

The A main was a class field and whilst Wes had a sketchy start and Matt needed to do a battery change, we were fighting all the way through for position - Thanks to the fastest battery change in recent history from Dan we managed to end up with Matt in 8th and Wes in 10th and although we both thought we could have been higher up it was a good start to the season 🤘🏼

All in all a great weekend with some awesome results, lots of banter and time with friends - just how we like it

Well done everyone !!

See you for the next one 🤩
